Our Company Background
Bacco Imports was founded by Antonio Race in 1999. As a successful restauranteur, well-respected chef, and avid wine enthusiast, Antonio recognized the importance of exposing his clientele to the very best wines he could find. Frustrated that many small but world-class Italian producers were not being represented in the United States, Antonio created Bacco Imports as a way to bring these gems to the American public.
Superior customer service is a trademark of ours that enables us to succeed at the highest level. We expect our employees to be confident in their ability to discuss and sell our products, so in turn we provide the information and extensive training necessary to make them successful.
Currently, Bacco Imports is composed of two dedicated and hard-working lovers of wine. Each provides a unique insight and perspective to the business. Together, they form a strong team committed to bringing top quality Italian wines to the US market.
Our Wine Philosophy
In order to be considered for the Bacco Imports portfolio, a wine must present the distinct personality of the grape as well as the individual region of each corresponding vineyard, making it an interesting and uniquely styled wine.
We focus our efforts on the smaller producers who have not yet been “discovered,” as well as with a few larger producers who are well known throughout Italy and the rest of Europe. Many of the winemakers in our portfolio are ambitiously trying new techniques in order to produce the best wines possible.
We work hard to establish strong professional and personal relationships with our winemakers. These relationships provide us the opportunity to encourage our producers in a direction that we believe will be successful in the U.S. wine market. Our hope is that these suggestions will not only help create a financially successful wine, but that the wine will reveal the winemaker’s individuality and the corresponding terroir.
