Grape variety: 50% Negroamaro and 50% Primitivo. Alcohol content: 13%. Production zone: Manduria. Characteristics of the soil: red soil of shallow depth and structure overlaying calcareous bedrock. Growing system: free-standing bush and wire supported system. Planting system: mt. 1.40 x 1.40 for free standing bush, mt. 2.00 x 1.30 for wire supported system. Mechanization: limited. Average age of the vineyard: 12-20 years for negroamaro, 60-70 years for primitivo. Average yield per hectare: 80-90 quintals for the bush vines, 60-70 quintals for the wire supported vines. Harvesting period: beginning of September. Harvest method: manual. Aged in steel. Color: very deep and intense ruby red with blackish, shades. Bouquet: fruity components prevail, hint of spices. Taste: firm tannin structure, nicely balanced between soft and sweet. Serving suggestions: cold cuts, spicy sausage, mature cheeses, pasta with meat sauce. Serving temperature: 18 degrees C.
