Felline - Manduria, Puglia
Since its inception, Felline has produced wines that stood out both for their own excellence and for the amazing value for money they offered. Gregory Perrucci obtains the grapes for their three wines from their 33 hectares of vineyard, in the countryside near Acuti di Manduria.
The oenological future of Puglia is to be found in the Primitivo grape. Gregory Perrucci believes as much has adopted this creed body and soul. In consequence, the Primitivo di Manduria has exceeded all the expectations aroused by its modern, clean wine, perfectly harmonious in all its components, dark dense ruby in color, offering a complexity of aromas ranging from vanilla to tasty oak, ripe red fruit and India ink. On the palate it displays impressive depth and concentration, and is warm, velvety, of perfect structure and great balance. It is simply a great red wine, the fruit of patient labor and research which led to the recovery of vineyards over fifty years old, mostly gobelet-trained and all very low yielding.
