Grape Variety: Primitivo di Manduria 100%, alcohol content 14%. Production zone: limited to the zone around Manduria, Puglia. Soil characteristics are red soil of shallow depth and structure overlaying calcareous bedrock. Growing system is free standing bush. Planting system: mt. 1.40 x 1.40. Mechanization limited to farming methods. Average age of the vineyard is 40 to 50 years old. Average volume per hectare; 60 to 70 quintals of grapes. Harvesting period is the beginning of September. Harvesting method is strictly manual. Aging in new French oak barrels from Allier and American oak for at least 12 months. The color is intense red. Bouquet has intense cherry aromas with balsamic notes acquired from the aging process in French and American oak. Taste is harmonious, velvety, with good tannins. Suggestioned to serve this wine with pasta dishes that include meat sauce, roasts. Serving temperature: 18 to 20 degrees C.
